Megan and Filip’s beautiful wedding took place on May 25th at The Winds Resort and Beach Club in Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina. Megan met Filip when she moved to Chicago and they fell in love almost immediately after meeting. Though Megan and Filip still live in Chicago, they chose to be married near the family vacation home at the beach, a place that holds so many great memories. Six years ago, I had the privilege of photographing Megan’s sister Kelsey’s wedding. It was such an honor to be able to photograph Megan’s wedding as well! Kelsey was Megan’s maid of honor and Lucas (Kelsey’s husband) was Filip’s best man, so that was very exciting too. Kelsey, Lucas and Megan’s father all gave the couple very touching toasts. It was nice to see this close-knit family interact and I felt like part of the family myself.
Some of Filip’s family even traveled from Poland to come to the wedding and they were not afraid to dance, just like Filip (he was really fun to photograph at the reception!). They definitely had a party going on, everyone had a blast! The details at the wedding were amazing, with Navy Blue, white and orange accents. Sunglasses and flip flops were provided for all the guests for an ocean front beach ceremony. At the reception, the couple had a nautical theme for the table settings and the flowers were gorgeous. A popcorn bar was set up for guests to enjoy during cocktail hour and later in the evening, a frozen drink cart was brought in for guests. The Frozen drinks added to the tropical vibe (and induced even more dancing!).
